Vietnam - UK cooperation in economic development and climate change response forum



On 21 October, the Vietnam - UK Economic and Trade Forum was co-organized by VNU University of Economics and Business (VNU-UEB), and Department of Climate change (MONRE), World Agroforestry Centre and Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR-ICRAF), and the Vietnam - UK Friendship Association.


Denzel Eades, Managing Director of Pioneer International Consulting and chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Working Group co-monitored the Session 1 in which key topics such as sustainable trade between Vietnam and the UK, UKVFTA prospects for Vietnam in general and trade - investment relations with the UK in particular, opportunities for cooperation between British and Vietnamese businesses and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic to bilateral trade between Vietnam and the UK.


This event took place on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the UK, marking the event of the Free Trade Agreement between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (UKVFTA) officially took effect and Vietnam attended the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26) in the United Kingdom.
