Phong Tran
Co-Founder and Chairman
Phong is recognised as a leading expert and lawyer in Vietnam’s power and energy sector and has over 25 years of experience working on the country's most significant project financings and major M&A transactions (Legal 500 and IFLR100) . With his broad experience Phong has represented numerous international sponsors, lenders and corporates in large scale and country critical power projects across multiple technologies including onshore and offshore wind, LNG, solar, coal and hydropower. Denzel Eades
Co-Founder and Managing Director
Denzel manages the firm’s offices in Hanoi and Singapore. He brings over 19 years of experience working with global financial institutions and leading law firms in Europe and Asia. He previously worked with Clifford Chance LLP based in London, Tokyo, Moscow, Hanoi and Bangkok. During his 10 year career with the firm he worked on some of the largest and country first project and leveraged financings in the UK and Asia and he has a broad and deep expertise in project finance, leveraged finance and cross border restructurings. Following Clifford Chance he worked for HSBC in Hong Kong with a focus on distressed debt and global restructurings. Denzel was based in Hanoi, Vietnam from 2010-2012 and was seconded to BTMU’s project finance team in Tokyo in 2013. London School of Economics, BSc, 2002. Kellogg School of Management, MBA, 2017.
Dung Do
Analyst
Dung is an analyst with Pioneer International Consulting in Hanoi. She combines expertise in policy and financial analysis to advise clients on Vietnam’s clean energy market, policy and regulation. Dung has a background in research and M&A with a focus on the power sector with experience in macro and sector research, project development, financial and regulatory analysis. Phuong-Thuy is a Junior Analyst at Pioneer International Consulting in Hanoi with a focus on policy and regulation. Phuong -Thuy has specialised in the policy and legal reform implemented to facilitate Vietnam's energy transition. Hanoi Law University, LLB, 2022.
Dr. Zeynep Gurguc
Senior Economic Adviser
Zeynep is an expert in energy and behavioral economics. Specializes in energy markets, policy, and the economic impact of energy production, consumption, and sustainability. Her main research interests are experimental and behavioral economics, applied microeconomics, and game theory. Zeynep is a lecturer at Queen Mary University, London.
Duong Phan
Senior Adviser (Power Sector)
Duong is a senior advisor to Pioneer International Consulting with over 30 years experience of power project development and Vietnam’s power and energy sector. Duong’s wide experience includes both project development and advisory roles. He brings an in-depth understanding of Vietnam’s regulatory authorities, power project development, power plant operations management, procurement, and negotiation of BOT and PPA contracts. Duong holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Thermal Power Plants from Hanoi Polytechnics University (1981) and an International Executive Master of Business Administration from the Asian Institute of Technology - Hanoi Center (2005).
Thanh-Binh Le
Macro and Financial Specialist
Binh is an economist with a focus on macroeconomics, monetary policy, and energy policy. He holds a PhD in Economics from Yokohama National University (YNU) and an MA in Economics from the International University of Japan (IUJ). Binh has been a lecturer at the Banking Academy of Vietnam for over a decade. His ongoing research at the Academy is focused on policy and mechanisms for supporting investment in Vietnam’s renewable energy sector.
Ngoc-Anh Le Thi
Head Accountant
Ngoc-Anh is a seasoned accounting and finance professional with 15 years of experience. Ngoc Anh has responsibility for accounting, financial planning, and HR management. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from the Academy of Finance, Hanoi.
