Each year, Vietnam's forests emit about 38 million tons of CO2 equivalent, but the amount of CO2 absorption and storage of Vietnam's forests is up to 74 million tons of CO2 equivalent / year, which is almost double the amount of emissions. This is considered a huge success of Vietnam, when most other countries emit more than absorb.
According to experts, if the goods label for CO2 is successful, Vietnam can completely sell CO2 certificates to the world market. If averagely US $ 5 buys 1 ton of CO2 as the last price with the World Bank, each year Vietnam can earn tens of millions of dollars from the sale of CO2 credits.
