Offshore Tra Ly seaport to serve 1.5GW Thai Binh LNG Power Plant

An offshore seaport with capacity to receive vessels of up to 150,000 tons is to be developed in the Tra Ly area, Thai Binh Province. The seaport is intended to serve the 1,500 MW Thai Binh LNG Power Plant. Source

 

HCMC to support low carbon urban projects with USD 250m development fund

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has launched a programme to support low carbon projects under a USD 250 million fund. Funding will be available for, among other projects, renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in public buildings and for EV development. The programme is supported by a USD 150 million debt facility from the World Bank, USD 50 million of grant funding from the Dutch Government and USD 30 million from HCMC. Source

 

20 hydropower projects prioritised for development in Lao Cai Province

Lao Cai Province has established a steering committee to accelerate development of 20 approved hydropower plant projects. The committee is tasked with coordinating project implementation and addressing issues impacting development. Lao Cai Province currently has 73 hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 1,148.85MW. (Decision 355/QD-UBND dated 25 February 2024 on the establishment of the Steering Committee and the Steering Committee's Assisting Group on accelerating the progress of investment in construction of 20 hydropower projects that have been approved for investment in the province). Source

 

VND 31 trillion hydropower project to be developed in Binh Thuan province

Electrical Engineering Construction - JSC has received preliminary approval for a VND 31 trillion (~USD 1.26 billion) hydropower project connected to irrigation reservoirs in Binh Thuan Province. Approval was announced in parallel to a VND 15 trillion clean energy project investment by ECOTECH Consulting Company. Source

 

5MW waste to energy plant commences operation in Binh Duong province

Binh Duong Provinces first waste to energy (WTE) project has commenced operation. The 5MW project has been developed by Binh Duong Water - Environment Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Biwase) Source
